I was figuring on trying to find some hatching eggs, and then learned about svart hona. I live in a place with an alpine winter climate, at about 4500' with wintertime lows regularly
The father of all 3 is my Ayam Cemani rooster. The grey one is half silkie, the other 2 are mixes of one of my hens but not sure which one. All 3 roosters are not super tame but have never shown any aggression toward me or my 3 small kids.
There's two people selling some in my area right now. One has chicks for $20 each. And several 5 to 6 month juveniles for $50 each. The other has some 9 month olds for $50 each and it says "I have sold eggs for $50 a dozen and chicks for $35 each in the past" Both say these are not culls or inferior birds.
